Planning a ‘Staycation?’ How About a Scarborough Holiday?
Following the credit crunch, it has become rather fashionable to holiday in the UK. Even the Camerons spent their holidays in England this year. So it is really not very surprising that many families have begun to realise the advantages of taking a Scarborough holiday, regardless of their budget.
Anyone of any age or in any company can find something to enjoy on a Scarborough holiday. This busy seaside town offers accommodation to suit all tastes and price ranges, from tents to luxury hotels.
Scarborough couldn’t be further from the stereotypical image of a tacky seaside holiday in Britain. The town has a great deal of history as well as educational and cultural attractions so that the whole family will be entertained. There’s also the opportunity to use a Scarborough holiday as a great excuse to see a little more of North Yorkshire.
Fans of history will not be let down by their Scarborough holiday. As well as the town’s historical castle and Roman signal station, there’s even a genuine vintage steam train which takes tourists to and from York. If trains are your thing, there’s also the North Bay Railway which is a miniature railway.
Whilst a Scarborough holiday might not immediately spring to mind when you consider cultural festivals, the town is actually home to a drama festival and a literature festival. A fascinating look at marine life can be had in the Sea Life Centre, too.
Although the weather can never be guaranteed on any UK holiday, a Scarborough holiday is certainly a safe bet in that on the sunny days there’s a beautiful and safe beach to be enjoyed, whilst there’s plenty to be enjoyed on days where the weather is less than great.
The broad range of attractions available mean that a Scarborough holiday can appeal to almost anyone. Whilst the ‘staycation’ is still in vogue, now’s the time to enjoy a Scarborough holiday.
